Darren, a few members requested a track day and john posted one up on the forum. I think it should be added to the calendar. What's everyone else's thoughts?

You will have to get that info from Jerry Brown. The idea is to go to an outdoor range. I don't know which one he settled on but it was somewhere pretty far north of town. I think you will be able to shoot anything you want to at the ranges he was looking into. Sorry I'm not more help as I'm not a qualified gun nut

Andrew is right.
Jerry agreed to helping organize this event and he said more details will be available in early March. When we tried to have this last year he was working on Creekside Firing Range as the location though.

Club Shoot April 10 at Creekside Range

We got rained out on all three tries last fall, so hope we have better luck this time? This range is located W of Cartersville and shouldn't be too bad for most of those interested in going, as those folks live on NW side of town, except Darren, who never complains about driving to events! Kudos to him! This is outdoor range and so all can shoot those evil black assault rifles, or other long guns with plenty of room! Will have "pistol pit" for shooting handguns.

Darren, JC, Cameron, left Darren a voice mail to "plug in" dates of Canton Po Boy's cruise ins, Cartersville, Ga (Cam said first Sat of Month, begins in Mar?), Barrett Pwky cruise in (Second Saturday?), and lastly, the Canton town square. The first 3 a big, well attended, and Canton square much smaller, but still nice, as probably 30-40 cars the one time I went. Suspect with all the cold weather, rain, and snow, we all have a bit of cabin fever and might jump at chance to attend some of these? Please consider including them in event schedule?

Gun Nut Pilgrimage?

Wanted to make this a separate post and possible new event, if interested. The national trade show for gun and outdoor industry is called SHOT Show, held last month and is NEVER open to the public to see latest coming models of firearms, as well as what's currently available, optics, outdoor gear of all kinds, holsters and everything you can imagine. THE NRA Meeting & SHOW has almost all the same exhibitors and is open to public, free admission to exhibits, I believe, if NRA member! It is May 14-16 in Charlotte, so a Friday-Sunday. Trust me, it is huge and you can not see it in one day! Since I did not go to Vegas for SHOT, seriously considering going to Charlotte and thought I'd throw out suggestion to club members to see if anyone was interested? As cheap hotel rooms will be going pretty fast, should think about this and decide. Depending upon interest level, some car pooling and hotel sharing possible?

Put me down for attending the Shoot-Out in April.

Since all of these events are recurring and everything on our event calendar is not, these events may be better placed directly inside the calendar section of the site.
I left a message with Cameron so once I get some concrete dates I will plug them in that section.
Thanks for your help again Jerry.

Hey Darren, understand "recurring" thinking and a good

point! Given that most of us, especially those with families will have limited time, having event names and dates "in context" with other events, might help members make choices more easily?

Don't forget Hooter's tomorrow night?

I forgot. I'll send an email to everyone as a reminder.

Hooters at 6 or 7 tomorrow night?

If people prefer to stop by on their way home from work, probably like earlier 6; but if they want to go home first, then 7? I'm good with either.
